Updated 2 months ago

Cortina Health makes it easy to manage lab orders as part of your dermatology care. If your physician determines that a lab test is necessary for your treatment, follow these steps to complete the process smoothly.

1. Receiving a Lab Order

After you complete your intake form, a physician will review your case. If lab work is required, the physician will create a lab order for you. Once the order is placed, you will receive an email notification prompting you to check your Lab Orders page.

2. Accessing Your Lab Orders

Log into your Cortina Health account and navigate to the Lab Orders page. Here, you will find:

  • A list of lab orders requested by your physician
  • A Download PDF link for each order
  • The current status of each order
  • An Upload Results button to submit your lab test results
3. Downloading and Printing Your Lab Order

Click the Download PDF link to access your lab order. The PDF contains two pages:

  • Page 1: The lab order itself, including your information, the requesting physician, and the required lab tests.
  • Page 2: A tentative list of lab locations near your zip code.

Note: You are free to visit any medical lab of your choice. The listed labs are for guidance only, and Cortina Health is not affiliated with any lab. Be sure to call ahead to confirm that the lab can perform the required tests and to schedule an appointment.

4. Completing Your Lab Work

Take your printed lab order to your chosen lab. Follow their instructions to complete your tests.

5. Uploading Your Lab Results

Once you receive your lab results, return to the Lab Orders page in your Cortina Health account and locate the corresponding order. Click the Upload Results button and submit your results in one of the following formats:

  • PDF (for digital lab reports)
  • PNG or JPG (for photos of physical lab results)
6. Handling Resubmissions

If the uploaded file is incorrect, blurry, or corrupted, the physician will mark the order as needing resubmission. You will receive an email notification, and the status of your lab order will display a red Error badge. In this case, upload a clear and correct file to proceed.

7. Getting Help

If you need assistance at any point, you can contact Cortina Health support by:
